MYSTERIES OF SKIING & SNOBOARDING REVEALED – Four Tuesdays starting October 17 (6-8PM.) Fee is $40 with possible scholarship availability according to need.
The Catskills Recreation Center announces a great program entitled MYSTERIES of SKIING & SNOWBOARDING REVEALED.  The workshop is designed as a pre-season tune-up for enthusiasts eager to enjoy their best snow session ever.  The four sessions will cover a broad range of topics all designed to benefit participants regardless of their experience.
“Enjoying snow covered peaks doesn't require sophisticated athletic skills or years of technical training” declares Howard Harrison a Highmount resident and Professional Ski Instructors of America certified Master Teacher, “Simple physical movements and attention to gravity reliably deliver happy results.”
“A ski area's variety of trails provides appropriate challenge and fun for all levels of age and expertise.  The same foundational skills developed at the start are applied on gentle or steeper pitches albeit with varied intensity.”
Howard's lengthy Instructor career in the Catskills region and most recently, ten years in Aspen created a simplified and de-mystified approach that assures winter fun. His magic formula applies familiar physical movements to contemporary equipment and snow grooming
“Snow remains mostly white in any of the 50 USA or 12 Europe areas I skied.  Fun was universal whether on the steeps and deeps or the Bunny slope just as there was always a chance to improve.”  The workshop is scheduled for four Tuesdays starting October 17 (6-8 PM.) The fee is $40 with possible scholarship availability according to need.  Gifts and discount tickets for lucky recipients.
