| SOMETHING FISHY AND OTHER CURRENTS - A GROUP SHOW OF LY ARTISTS APRIL 21-MAY 14

| "SOMETHING FISHY AND OTHER CURRENTS" OPENS AT LONGYEAR GALLERY Opening this week at Margaretville's Longyear Gallery is "Something Fishy and Other Currents," a group show featuring the artwork of all Longyear Gallery members that opens on April 20th. The Artists' Reception will take place the following week, Saturday, April 28th, from 3-6 p.m. "Something Fishy and Other Currents" is really two exhibitions in one. Joining in Margaretville's "Something Fishy on Main Street" celebration of Trout and Trout-fishing, a number of Longyear artists will exhibit fishing-related art while other members will exhibit artwork unrelated to the event. "Something Fishy on Main" will be a 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. day of various activities including lessons in fly-tying, trout kite making, etc. in Margaretville. A cooperative art gallery, Longyear Gallery's 33 members include artists Robert Axelrod, Beth Caspar, Marcia Clark, Janice DeMarino, Neil Driscoll, Ann Lee Fuller, Elaine Grandy, Robin Halpern, Jennifer Jefferson, Louise Kalin, Hedi Kyle, Margaret Leveson, Helane Levine-Keating, Patrice Lorenz, Anna Contes Maguire, Douglas Maguire, Frank Manzo, Helene Manzo, Anthony Margiotta, Gary Mayer, Elaine Mayes, Richard Mills, Chris Moore, Wayne Morris, Tom Rapin, Victoria Scott, Marilyn Silver, Mina Teslaru, Gerda van Leeuwen, Linda Varian, Corneel Verlaan, Ros Welchman, and Ellen Wong. Upcoming Longyear Gallery shows include a two solo exhibitions featuring the works of Helane Levine-Keating and of Jennifer Jefferson from May 18th to June 11th, with the Artist's Reception on Saturday, May 19th from 3-6 p.m.; and two solo exhibitions featuring the work of Robert Axelrod and David Leveson from June 15th to July 9thwith the Artist's Reception on Saturday, June 16th from 3-6 p.m. David Leveson's solo exhibition of fine art photography will also serve as a tribute to the beloved photographer, founding Longyear member, and late Longyear Gallery director who passed away on March 15th after a short illness. "Something Fishy and Other Currents" will be open Friday, April 20th through Monday, May 14th. Longyear Gallery is located Downstairs at the Commons, 758 Main Street, Margaretville. Gallery hours for "Something Fishy and Other Currents" are Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and by appointment.
