The special holiday run of the Silver Sleigh Flyer will roll out of the Arkville station at 12 Noon and 3:00 PM. starting December 1st and continuing through Sunday, December 23rd.

The special theme ride will include Santa Claus joining us on the train to visit with children of all ages as the Flyer  rolls through winter landscape of the Western Catskills.  Along the way passengers will be treated to a Hot Chocolate (or coffee & tea) and Gingerbread people, along with a special treat to take along home, to remember their visit with Santa from our friends & Santa’s Helpers at Rhinecliff Catering!

The Silver Sleigh Flyer is a developing story by Delaware & Ulster Railroad; General Manager Wes Coates and Halcottsville resident Sharon Seuss, and tells how a passenger train in the Catskills helped Santa complete his rounds when a winter storm forced him to make an unscheduled landing along the tracks. The D&U will be transformed into the Flyer for this special series of rides.

Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.durr.org and reservations are required for all trains.  Children (3 – 12 years of age) fares will be $ 24.00 and $ 28.00 for adults and seniors.  Children under the age of 3 will be the guests of the railroad.  Tickets can also be reserved by calling (845) 586 – 3877 or at stationmaster@durr.org.
