The Auxiliary has won HANYS (Healthcare Association of NY State) awards for advocacy and Auxiliary of the Year!
Healthcare auxiliaries play a vital role in hospitals and health systems, and in their local communities. They serve as valuable links between their communities and the institutions they serve. To recognize all the ways that auxiliaries help to strengthen New York State's healthcare system, HANYS established the Auxiliary of the Year Award. The award is given to a HANYS' member-affiliated auxiliary that demonstrates outstanding achievements in community outreach and/or advocacy.
For more than 45 years, the Margaretville Hospital Auxiliary has promoted and advanced the welfare of Margaretville Hospital and the Mountainside Residential Care Center through innovative fundraising events. Since 1966, the Auxiliary continues to lead the way in raising funds to support many initiatives of the hospital such as purchasing a new four wheel drive ambulance, wheelchairs, state-of-the-art medical equipment, Lifeline Personal Response System units for homebound and the elderly, a state-of-the-art Blood Chemistry Analyzer and a backup server for medical records. Additionally, the Auxiliary conducts various events and sponsors an array of programs throughout the year.
It is our mission to promote and advance the welfare of the Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center through outreach, advocacy and fundraising. This will be accomplished through committees appointed by the Auxiliary President and supported by the Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
