Re-Store Design Challenge Gala Awards Celebration
This summer, three teams of prominent designers, builders, artists, and local students spent two days and one-thousand dollars each to design and renovate three vacant storefronts in the Catskill village of Roxbury. On four open-house weekends, area visitors, residents, and press have touredthe stores and imagined a village transformed by exciting design. At this gala awards event a public vote and juried review will decide the winning team, sending the winning student to college with a scholarship.

Game of Logging Level I Focusing on varying aspects of chainsaw safety and techniques for properly felling trees. Level I introduces participants to open face felling, personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning the fell, and understanding hinge wood strength. Individuals will be responsible to provide their own chain saw, helmet, leather boots, chaps, safety glasses orface screen, ear muffs or plugs, and to dress for the weather. Participants should pack a brown bag lunch and enough water for the day. .
